My task was to build a brand for the fictional PG Airways from the ground up; creating an identity system befitting of a real airline. Drawing inspiration from the golden era of aviation, PG’s current residence in Los los Angeles and the game of basketball itself—we created an illustrative design system that positioned PG Airways as promote Prime Video’s new original show The Boys, AKQA Portland teamed up with LA chef Ludo Lefevbre to serve up knuckle sandwiches in an immersive, theatrical pop-up shop. Our Butcher Shop took its name and ethos from Billy Butcher, the crass but charismatic anti-superhero vigilante. To bring the pop-up to life, we built the Butcher Shop brand and identity from scratch. They came to Instrument with an ask to give their brand the enterprise treatment, bringing a level of polish and sophistication that would resonate with their new B2B audience. The metaphor of a spotlight was applied to the registration site, on which we used large cropped shapes to reveal individuals and/or scenes from the in-person event. We leaned into a fresh, bright, and bold color palette so as to emphasize the energy and vibrancy of Dreamforce. The concept was translated into key page expressions for both the site and the mobile application. is everywhere. Mostly, we hear about it taking our jobs and shooting us with lasers. But the truth is, artificial intelligence is a beautiful thing. What if we collaborated with the robots and asked AI to invent an entirely human experience—maybe even a new sport? Would it be playable? Would it be fun?
